After the Walk for the Whisper, we went over to a grand opening of a new mall in our area. They had lots of great activities geared for the kids such as bounce houses, a cheerleader walking around on stilts, horse drawn carriage rides, face painters, balloon artists, etc. One of the first things we saw was a cool statue of a cowboy. Nicholas started to go over and touch it - but then the statue moved!
Nicholas kept a "safe distance" from the cowboy for quite a while but he wasn't ready to leave. We must have stood there for 20 minutes just staring at the statue that was alive. Finally, Nicholas got up the courage to sneak up on the statue from the side and just poke his leg then back away quickly. It was funny.
It was also funny when a lady put her hand on the statue, thinking it was really a statue, and the statue jumped and said, "AAAAAHH!". It made everyone jump but especially the poor lady!
What the deal with kids and water anyway? If they see it, they must touch it!
We found a cowboy that was spinning a lasso. He asked Nicholas to come over but Nicholas hid behind Stuart and said he was shy. Stuart picked him up and they went over together to talk to the cowboy. Next thing you know the guy is spinning his lasso right around himself, Stuart, and Nicholas. It was amazing.
Although Nicholas was clinging onto Stuart for dear life, he laughed and said it was fun once he was safely on the ground. The cowboy even gave him a wooden coin. Nicholas was so proud of his coin that he took it to bed with him for his nap.
