Tonight, we went to Nicholas' school for their Open House. It's a nice time to visit with the teachers, other parents and see some of the wonderful art work that the children have been working on.
Here's a bottle of sand that Nicholas made. He said the red sand poured out REALLY fast but it was ok.
Here's a paper mache cardinal that he made. I think this is my favorite piece of art work yet! How cute!
Nicholas particularly liked that the art teacher displayed his bird on a branch just above someone else's cat!
Here is Nicholas showing me one of their Montessori works that helps to build the pincer grip for writing skills.
This is just one wall of the class room. I just love all of the neat activities on the shelves that children can choose from.
Here is some neat watercolor art work that was displayed in the hall way. Nicholas enjoyed telling me about the technique they used to make the designs.
Nicholas was proud to show me how quickly he could complete some puzzles. He has lots of puzzles at home, especially the kinds with knobs on them which help to develop the muscles used in the pincer grip.
And here is a picture of Nicholas with his teacher, Mrs. Carrico. She is such a sweet and caring lady. Just talking with her you can tell she is very passionate about children.
