Stuart and I stay up way too late each night so we enjoy sleeping late on the weekends...that is, until Nicholas wakes us up. As usual, Nicholas was up before us but he didn't come bouncing on the bed. He quietly went down stairs to get some breakfast for himself. He is quite independent these days. Of course, he is very thoughtful for a four year old and he brought some breakfast upstairs for Stuart and
me. When we got out of bed, this was lined up, just as pictured, in our doorway...
....a box of raisins, a bowl with milk and some kind of cereal (with a spoon), and a jar of pickles (with a fork). So sweet...but such an unusual breakfast. Needless to say, we thanked him for the breakfast but managed to avoid actually eating any of it. When we made it downstairs, Stuart noticed an opened box of Triscuit crackers on the kitchen table. He asked Nicholas, "Hmm, so was that Triscuit 'cereal' that you made for us?". Nicholas said, "Well, I thought it was cereal but it was really just crackers." But he went ahead and made cereal out of it anyway.
