The Great Outdoors

Our family loves to be outdoors! Stuart and I have been camping many times but not since Nicholas was born. We couldn't wait to introduce him to camping! We found a campsite on Grapevine Lake and hauled the gear out there. Nicholas helped Daddy put up the tent. He always wants to help with anything we are doing.


We all had a great time. We went for hikes in the woods, played on the playground, looked at unusual bugs and plants, made some new friends, watched sail boats on the water, made fajitas for dinner, s'mores for dessert, and pancakes for breakfast.



Daddy found an interesting spot on our campsite that had a lot of different kinds of rocks. He talked to Nicholas about indigenous rocks and rocks that appeared to be brought to the site from somewhere else. I love it that Stuart takes advantage of these "teachable moments" with Nicholas.
