A Night Full of Stars - Dallas Stars, that is...

Tonight we took Nicholas to his first Dallas Stars hockey game - Dallas was playing the Phoenix Coyotes (Nicholas kept calling them the wolves!). Nicholas wore his little Stars jersey with Mike Modano's name and number on the back and a little Stars jogging suit. When he put on the suit, I said that it looked a little small on him. He said, "Don't worry. I'm going to wear it anyway." Well, ok then.

We were planning to just drive to the arena but Stuart learned that the DART train has a route to the arena on game nights. What fun! None of us have ever ridden the DART train before and the idea of not having to fight traffic to and from the game was quite nice. So we drove to a Park and Ride station and got our tickets. Here are my guys waiting for the train.

The train was already full when it stopped for us but we squeezed in a spot. Unfortunately we had two more stops to pick up more passengers before we arrived at the arena. It got crowded but we enjoyed talking with the friendly people around us. We were glad to get to the American Airlines Center though. We had some pretty good seats considering we got $40 tickets for only $10 each with my PTA discount! We got some dinner and Nicholas enjoyed watching the game even though he doesn't really understand all of the rules.

Of course, when the Stars made a goal, the music played, the lights flashed and everyone cheered. Nicholas just loved it!!! Here's a little video clip of him celebrating but you might want to turn the volume on your speakers down a little because it might be a bit loud.

Dallas won the game, 2-1. It was fun for Nicholas to see his first hockey game and that his first game was an NHL Stars game. Stuart and I had not watched the Stars play since Nicholas was born so it was a real treat for us too.

The train ride back was even more fun than the ride over because of all the excitement in the air. Nicholas made lots of friends and was quite a flirt with these two ladies.
