We are the bright glow sticks

Nicholas has been coughing a lot today. There are no other symptoms except a slight wheeze. So we kept him up later than usual tonight so we could give him two breathing treatments. The first one just didn't seem to make much difference. He and Stuart popped three glow sticks so there was a little delay in bedtime because of that too.

I got Nicholas all tucked into bed with the lights off and the nightlight on. His music playing softly in the background. It is a great CD that came with an orchestra book that Grandmother Chance game him last time she came to visit. Of course, he had his glow sticks in his hand so there was a soft (albeit neon) glow on his face. He looked so precious and sweet that it just melted my heart. I felt bad about his coughing because there wasn't anything else I could do for him at the moment. We usually take turns saying prayers so I told him I wanted to say a prayer first. I prayed a little prayer for Nicholas to be healthy and well again. Nicholas seemed touched by it because he said, "Thank you. That was a special prayer."

As I type this at the computer, I can still here him coughing in his room but he's doing ok. I can hear him singing, "We are the bright glow sticks and we shine all night. We fly through the air. We are the bright glow sticks."
