Nicholas and I went for a walk around the neighborhood after dinner tonight. We enjoyed the breeze and the beautiful sunset. We watched ants following their trail. We played with two bassett hounds that a neighbor was taking for a walk. Nicholas knows that we always find neat "treasures" on walks so he came prepared with a bag to carry all of his goodies in.
We found some pieces of orange weed-wacker line. We picked up some fallen white and pink flowers from some crepe myrtle trees as well as a few other fallen flower buds. We talked about how it was ok to pick these things up if they have already fallen on the ground but we do not pick our neighbors flowers from their flower beds! We picked up several pine cones and "gumballs" from trees as well as lot (and lots) of sticks of varying sizes.
We picked up fresh green pine needles from the ground and compared them with others we found that were old, brittle, and brown.
We found a spider which Nicholas tried to get to crawl on his stick but sadly he ended up killing it by mistake. We watched as a bunch of little baby spiders came running out of the mommy spider. What a sight! (sad, though it is).
Nicholas pretended to be a grasshopper hopping along the sidewalk. Then he decided that he needed a grasshopper nap so he closed his eyes and pretended to nap...but it was all he could stand and he soon started giggling.
Two of God's most beautiful and perfect creations...sunsets and children.

What beautiful pictures! Reese & I went on a golf cart ride at that exact same time and he kept saying "Mommy, the sky is green and red!" It really was a beautiful sunset. Great pictures!
