A Night Time Surprise

They say that if you love the weather in Texas, just give it a minute and it will change. This weekend it was about 80 degrees outside then yesterday afternoon it turned bitterly cold. As Nicholas and I were upstairs last night getting him ready for bed, Stuart called to us to come downstairs. We went to the back door where he was and saw big chunky snowflakes falling from the sky! It is the first snow we've had this year and probably the only one we'll get. It was beautiful though. We bundled up and went out to play. It continued to come down heavily the whole time so we all got covered in it. What fun!

Nicholas has always been obsessed with eating the snow more than playing with it and last night he showed us that he still hasn't grown out of that. He will pick it up off the ground and eat it or even lick it off of one of our foam pool noodle that was left out. Ick!

This morning, the temperatures have warmed up just enough that it all melted from the roads so Stuart and Nicholas still had to go to work and school. But Nicholas got ready quickly this morning so we could spend some time playing in the snow before we left for school. We had fun making and throwing snowballs at each other. He also enjoyed throwing snowballs into the pool to watch them make a big splash. We were a little late for school but who cares! There's snow to play with!
